A significant proportion of respondents manage pSLE patients differently post-biopsy. Pediatric nephrologists were asked when they typically discharged patients after kidney biopsy, in the absence of complications. Most “keep all patients overnight for observation, regardless of whether they have SLE,” as opposed to discharging them home same day. However, 8 % “keep SLE patients after kidney biopsy for overnight observation solely because of possible increased risks associated with SLE.”
